Veronika Kummerfeldt

Veronika "Vera" Kummerfeldt , née Veronika Mitgude (born April 11, 1935 in Breslau ), is a former German athlete who started for the Federal Republic of Germany around 1960 as an 800-meter runner.

Veronika Kummerfeldt started for TuS Empelde . She won three German championship titles (1959, 1960 and 1962) on her special route. In 1960 she took part in the Olympic Games in Rome with Ursula Donath and Antje Gleichfeld . All three athletes reached the finals. Kummerfeldt came in a personal best of 2: 05.9 min (unofficial automatic time measurement: 2: 06.07 min) behind Ursula Donath and in front of Antje Gleichfeld in fourth place. During this time she took fifth place in the world best list over 800 meters in 1960.

In 1962, Kummerfeldt was German runner-up behind Helga Henning over 400 meters and took part in the European Championships in Belgrade over this distance , but had to finish the competition there as fifth of the intermediate run in 55.6 s.

In 1960 she won another German runner-up in cross-country skiing .
