from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The advantages and disadvantages of the alternatives in question are intuitively compared and the best solution is selected from a subjective point of view. It can be carried out either orally in the form of an interview or in writing using a questionnaire .

application

This evaluation method is mostly used for a preselection or a rough estimate . Even if information is difficult to obtain and reviewers are untrained, this method is ideal. In addition, this method is suitable for two contrary alternatives, in which the advantages of one alternative are the disadvantages of the other and vice versa. For complex decisions, it is better to use other evaluation methods. However, this method is preferred to the mere intuitive decision.

Advantages and disadvantages

One of the advantages of the method is that it is easy to implement and universally applicable. There is little cost and time required, it does not require any prior or special knowledge and can therefore be carried out quickly.

Important disadvantages are that it can only be used for simple problems and that the goals cannot be weighted . The same standards are not used for all variants; as a result, there is a risk of wrong judgments and the decision is often based on the number rather than the quality and importance of the advantages and disadvantages.
