Association of Special Education

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Verband Sonderpädagogik eV wants to combine the promotion of disabled people and people at risk of disability.

history

The association was founded in 1898 as an association of auxiliary schools in Germany . Founding members included Heinrich Kielhorn , Albert Wehrhahn and Heinrich Strakerjahn . In 1948 it was re-established as the Association of German Aid Schools . In 1955 it was renamed the Association of German Special Schools and in 2008 the Association of Special Education eV . The last name change should also make a paradigm shift clear: The focus of the association's efforts is no longer exclusively on the “special” or “special schools”; rather, other areas of special needs education should also be considered.

Act

The association publishes the journal for curative education , has around 12,000 members and has regional associations in every federal state. In addition to aspects of school education and the extracurricular life and work, the qualification of people who work in the field of special education is becoming increasingly relevant.
