Association of the Northwest German Textile and Clothing Industry

The Association of the Northwest German Textile and Clothing Industry has its headquarters and main office in Münster . He has further offices in Bielefeld , Hanover and Hamburg . It is an employers and business association for around 255 companies in the textile and clothing industry in Westphalia , Lower Saxony , Schleswig-Holstein , Hamburg and Bremen with around 28,000 employees and a turnover of around 6.2 billion euros.

The beginnings of the association go back to the year 1902, when the "Protection Association of the Textile Industrialists of the Münsterland" was created, which was renamed in 1906 to the "Association of Münsterland Textile Industrialists". In the same year the "Employers' Association of the Textile Industry Bielefeld" was founded in Bielefeld. Both associations were merged by the National Socialists to form the "Westphalia District Group of the Textile Economic Group". In 1949 the "Association of the Textile Industry Westphalia" was founded. In 1980 the merger with the textile associations Bremen / Lower Saxony and Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein took place to form the Association of the North-West German Textile Industry. In 2002, the association merged with the North-West clothing association to form today's "Association of the Northwest German Textile and Clothing Industry".

The focal points of the association's activities are the representation of member companies in terms of labor and social law, the accompaniment of approval procedures in the environmental sector, advisory and information services in the areas of ergonomics, training and further education and energy efficiency as well as the political representation of interests and public relations.

President is Wilfried Holtgrave.
