The Association of Prague German Football Associations (VdPDFV) was a local Austrian football association for the German-speaking clubs in the then bilingual Bohemian capital of Prague . The association existed from 1900 to 1904 and became part of the Austrian Football Association (ÖFV). He is considered the forerunner of the German Football Association for Bohemia .

history

The association became on November 7th 1900 through the clubs Prager FK Austria , FC Hellas 1900 , the football section of the reading and speech hall of the German students in Prague (short: reading hall Prague ), DBC Sturm and 1901 to the FC Sport-Favorite Prague merged clubs FC Favorit and FuAC Sport . A little later, the German FC and DFC Germania , among others, joined the association, which in January of the same year had already been founding members of the German Football Association , where Ferdinand Hueppe was the president. The Prague Association formed as a counterweight to the Austrian Football Union and was exclusively devoted to Bohemian and Prague clubs. However, it was not able to last long and broke up in disputes with the DFB , the Czech association ČSF and the ÖFV founded in 1904 .

The DFB, headed by the German Ferdinand Hueppe, at the same time President of the DFC Prague, tried at that time to “poach” German-speaking Austrian clubs, which, among other things, took place from May 30th to June 1st, 1903 VI. Bundestag of the DFB expressed in two motions: "... various noteworthy proposals are made on items 9 and 10 of the agenda. B. Mr. Kirmse, the Association of Prague German Football Associations, endeavored to win over all German football clubs in Austria for the DFB in order to strengthen German football in Bohemia ”.

At the end of 1903 an application to dissolve the association was rejected, but after the end of the DFC Germania only two clubs remained in the association of the Prague German football clubs, which was no longer viable. In addition, the two DFB member clubs from Prague, including DFB President Hueppe , had previously had to leave the DFB due to the German association's entry into FIFA . After the association was finally dissolved, the former member clubs joined the Austrian Football Association in November 1904. In 1911 he set up an independent sub-association, the German-Bohemian Football Association, which was supposed to take care of the concerns of the German-speaking clubs in Bohemia.

championship

The association's championship was held for three seasons, with no champions in the 1902/03 season due to the equality of points between the three clubs in the 1st class.
