The Association of Protestant Church Musicians in Germany (VeM) is the amalgamation of the independent regional associations in the regional churches of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) for the purpose of promoting church music . The association is based in Hanover .

In accordance with the articles of association, its tasks also include safeguarding the technical, professional and social interests of church musicians as well as representing the members in relation to church and state authorities. The president is the district cantor KMD Christoph Bogon, the vice-presidents are Johanna Werner-Balcke and KMD Ingomar Kury, the managing director is KMD Klaus Wedel. Affiliated to the association is the “support group for church music development work”, whose chairman is the former association president KMD Lothar Mohn . The sponsorship group supports Protestant church musicians primarily in Eastern European countries with the donations it has raised.

The association was founded in Berlin in 1933 as the “Reichsbund for Protestant Church Music” by Adolf Strube . In the same year it was renamed “Reich Association for Protestant Church Music”. At that time the association was divided into three professional associations, the "Association of Protestant Church Musicians in Germany", the " Association of Protestant Church Choirs " and the "Association of Protestant Trombone Choirs".
