Connection network operator
Network operator ( VNB ) refers to a network operator of a wide area telephone network ( connection network ) for switching local area network cross-divisional compounds.
At telephone connections of established network operators , the connection network operator used for the connections (voice telephony, fax, narrowband data connections) can be selected in individual cases by call-by-call or permanently by means of preselection .
The established network operators in the local network ( ILEC ) are obliged to interconnect with the network operators for this purpose .
In the interest of a greater variety of providers and more intense competition on the local call market , connection network operators are also allowed to broker internal calls , although their switching service is unnecessary from a technical point of view and has therefore long been controversial, especially in Germany, which is why the implementation of local call switching by the connection network operators is more evident here than in other countries There was a delay .
