Order of Merit of the Crown of Hawaii
The Order of Merit of the Crown of Hawai'i was founded by King Kalākaua on September 12, 1882 and was intended to commemorate his accession to the throne in 1874. It was given as a token of benevolence and as a reward to the state and the king for excellent service.
The order had seven classes. The number of members in the first five classes was limited.

- Holder of the silver civil medal
A service period of at least twenty years was necessary for the award of the military or civil medals.
The medal is an eight-pointed, gold-rimmed, white-enameled cross with gold corner rays. The gold Hawaiian royal crown can be seen in the white enameled medallion . The bracelet shows the words ORDRE CROWN OF HAWAII .
The ribbon is blue with white stripes.
