Honored cooperative farmer of the German Democratic Republic

The honorary title of Honored Cooperative Farmer of the German Democratic Republic was a state award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was awarded in the form of a medal. The title was donated on April 28, 1977 and was the successor to the title of Master Builder in Cooperative Production . It was awarded for outstanding achievements in solving economic tasks in agriculture as well as for special merits and initiatives in socialist competition . But also for the application of scientific and technical progress and ultimately also for long-term exemplary commitment in this area. The number of maximum awards was limited to 100 honorary degrees per year, but this number had to be shared with the title of Honored Worker in Agriculture and Forestry of the German Democratic Republic .

Appearance

The gold-plated medal with a diameter of 30 mm shows an ear of wheat on its obverse and behind it a half-covered cow as well as the inscription: DESERVED COOPERATIVE FARMER OF THE GDR . The reverse of the medal shows the GDR's national coat of arms .

Carrying method

The medal was worn on the upper left side of the chest on a 24 × 14 mm green-covered ribbon with a gold miniature of the GDR's national coat of arms. Two vertical black, red and gold side stripes are woven in on the left and right of the tape, each 3.5 mm wide, with the black stripe always on the outside as a hem.
