Association of Tibetan Youth in Europe

The Association of Tibetan Youth in Europe (VTJE / TYAE) based in Zurich ( Switzerland ) is the largest Tibetan youth association in Europe. It was founded in 1970 by members of the Tibetan diaspora .

The fields of activity include the preservation of the Tibetan culture and language, maintenance and promotion of contacts among the Tibetans living in Europe , assistance with integration into the foreign environment and education work about the political situation in Tibet.

Among other things, the VTJE carried out effective media campaigns in the run-up to the 2008 Olympic Games . Several ex-presidents of the association continue to work in the diaspora, such as Kelsang Gyaltsen, the EU envoy of the Dalai Lama .
