Constitutional lime tree (Grünwald)
The constitutional linden tree is over 210 years old in Grünwald ( Upper Bavaria ). It stands on the market square at the intersection of the two main streets of the village.
The tree was planted on May 20, 1808 by the Grünwald community. The reason for this was the establishment of a constitution for the Kingdom of Bavaria by King Maximilian Joseph . A plaque attached to the trunk commemorates the foundation.
The linden tree is a natural monument under nature protection . It was also entered in the list of monuments like an architectural monument.
