Shortening capacitor

A shortening capacitor is a capacitor , which for the electrical shortening of antennas is used. It is connected in series with the antenna and should be of the highest possible quality .

To avoid electrical charging of the antenna tip, a surge arrester is connected in parallel to a shortening capacitor.
