The Verkehrsgemeinschaft Emsland-Süd (VGE) is the operating company for local public road transport in the southern Emsland district in the Lingen region .

In 1993, the VGE was founded by the district to coordinate and handle bus traffic in the former Lingen district . This is a special form of the transport association , the transport services and tariffs are coordinated by the companies involved under the supervision of the responsible body. The total of 35 city and regional bus routes are served by eight different bus companies with around 90 vehicles. The annual traffic volume is around 4 million people and a mileage of around 2 million kilometers.

The daily lines mostly run every hour from Monday to Friday from morning to evening and on Saturday from morning to early afternoon, the rest of the weekends are closed. The heart of the timetable is the school transport , which also specifies the hourly travel times , which is why the connections to and from the Deutsche Bahn trains at Lingen (Ems) are clearly missed.

A night bus offer was offered from 1997 to May 12, 2016 under the name "NachtEule" with eight lines in the region on nights from Saturday to Sunday.
