Publishing house of the youth movement
The publisher of the youth movement is established in 1948 with offices in Stuttgart . Around 40 volunteers work in the publishing house. The publisher publishes two magazines, each with three issues a year. 2 to 3 additional publications appear annually. In addition to the calendars mentioned, the publishing program also includes books, song sheets and documentation for and about the youth movement . The publisher, which was called Südmarkverlag until 1989 , is the most important publisher of the youth movement in the period after 1945.
history
1948 to 1989
The publishing house was founded in May 1948 as Südmarkverlag Fritsch KG in Heidenheim an der Brenz by Horst Fritsch (1919–2007). In the first few years only the song sheets of German youth were published at irregular intervals . The first edition of the magazine mannschaft was published in January 1956 (this was called m from 1964 and keyword from 1968 ). The Eisbrecher was published for the first time in May 1960 . The series of documentaries began in 1962, the first publication being tusk - collected writings and poems edited by Werner Helwig . The book series Piratenbücherei started in 1965 . 1975 began the series puls - a documentary document of the youth movement, which mainly documents the history of the youth movement after 1945 in irregular succession.
From 1989
In 1989 Michael Fritz took over the publishing house, at that time it was renamed "Verlag der Jugendbewegung Südmarkverlag Michael Fritz KG".
Since the year 2000, a group of volunteer youth movements has carried out the day-to-day business.
Publishing program
The best-known magazine from the publisher is Eisbrecher . The publisher has published publications by Werner Helwig , Eberhard Koebel , Walter Scherf , Kurt Kremers , Erich Scholz, among others . In the series puls - a documentary publication of the youth movement , booklets about Hans Scholl and Peter Rohland were published.
