Verne Booth
Verne Hobson Booth (born October 27, 1898 in Sawyer , North Dakota , † September 27, 1979 in Hendersonville , North Carolina ) was an American long-distance runner .
In 1923 he was starting NCAA championship over two miles for Johns Hopkins University .
In 1924 he qualified over 10,000 m with his personal best of 32: 14.6 min for the Olympic Games in Paris , but did not reach the finish there in the final. He also gave up in cross-country skiing, but like the rest of the US team was awarded a silver medal.
