Verre (unit)
Verre was a Belgian and Swiss measure of volume. The term can be translated as "glass" or "mug". A distinction was made in Belgium between beer and oil measures . The measure was also known in Switzerland, in the canton of Vaud .
Belgium
The Maate / Mate ( Metze ) was used for other goods, such as grain and other liquids .
Switzerland
- 1 verre / mug = 6 4/5 Parisian cubic inches = 1/8 liter
- 10 verre / cup = 1 pot / measure
- 100 Verre / little cup = 1 fees as / Broc
- 4800 Verre / cup = 16 buckets / set = 1 fuder / char
