Pension fund for pastors and church officials
The common pension fund for pastors and church officials of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland , the Evangelical Church of Westphalia and the Lippe Regional Church ( VKPB for short ), as a church pension fund, has the task of ensuring the fulfillment of pension claims, the pastors , preachers and pastors in auxiliary service, church officials as well as their surviving dependents by law or on the basis of special agreements made against the regional churches in accordance with the church supply law. The pension entitlements in this sense also include the entitlement to benefits in the event of illness, birth and death. In addition, the fund is responsible for processing grants in cases of illness, birth and death for active pastors, church officials, preachers, pastors in the auxiliary service and vicars as well as all employees who are entitled to subsidies under private law, insofar as they are assigned this task by the respective regional church is transmitted.
Approx. 4,000 pension recipients currently receive pension benefits from the VKPB.
The pension fund is a legally independent church institution in the legal form of an institution under public law. It has existed since 1971 and is based in Dortmund . It has around 60 employees.
The VKPB is a member of the Working Group on Municipal and Church Pensions (AKA) e. V. The fund is also a member of the Sustainable Investments Forum and successfully completed the EMAS III certification process at the end of 2011.
