Versus ( spelling : VERSUS ) is a German rock band from Frankfurt am Main, founded in 2017 .
Band history
The band was founded in 2017 by Nils Baloun, who was also active in the hard rock band Rock Divine . On June 8, 2018, they released their first album Nur vom Feinsten on the Boersma Records label . The band then played at the GOND , the Spreewald Rock Festival , the Werner Race and the Rock on the Castle .
Her second album Doktrin - Mit Eier, Herz, Wille und Verstand was released on May 9, 2020 , which was produced in the Desert Inn Studio by Viktor Dewald . The album reached number 58 in the German album charts.
Music genre
Versus play German rock in the style of similar bands such as Frei.Wild and Böhse Onkelz . Similar to these bands, they also process punk influences. They define themselves as "neither right nor left". The lyrics are not very political, but they tell everyday stories typical of German rock, songs about "hard times" and also genre-typical songs about alcohol consumption and football as well as a certain amount of local patriotism . They don't describe themselves as a “classic” German rock band, because they also process other influences, especially from metal .
