The administrative community of Aue-Fallstein was founded in 1991 by the voluntary amalgamation of 7 communities. It was dissolved on September 11, 2003 and the communities voluntarily joined together to form the new unified community of Aue-Fallstein .

The coat of arms was approved on July 15, 1997 by the Magdeburg Regional Council and registered in the state archives under the coat of arms roll number 51/1997.
