In the administrative community Bad Schmiedeberg town were Bad Schmiedeberg (county seat) and the municipalities Korgau and Söllichau in Saxony-Anhalt Wittenberg district together.

history

The administrative community was founded at some point and at some point merged with the Pretzsch administrative community to form the new Elbe-Heiderand communities . However, a court ruling declared this merger to have not taken place. As a result, on February 27, 2000, Elbe-Heiderand municipalities were separated from the VG, which in turn was dissolved on April 9, 2000 and merged into the new administrative community of Elbe-Heideland municipalities . Almost five years (January 1, 2005) later, the two administrative communities merged to form the new administrative community Kurregion Elbe-Heideland , whose member communities were in turn merged on July 1, 2009 to form the new unified municipality of Bad Schmiedeberg.
