Jan Wuytens (born June 9, 1985 in Hechtel ) is a Belgian football player .

Career

society

Wuytens played in amateur youth teams before joining the youth division of the top Belgian club RSC Anderlecht . At the age of 13 he already moved abroad and joined the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven . When he should switch to the professional area, the defensive player was transferred to league rivals Heracles Almelo . At the then promoted team he made his Eredivisie debut in the 2005/06 season and received some league practice. The following year he was found on the bench more often, but then made the breakthrough in 2007/08 and played thirty league games for his team. Then in 2008/09 Wuytens scored his first Eredivisie goal. There should be a total of five this season. These performances did not go unnoticed by the other Dutch teams. In the summer of 2009, it became known that the defender would move to FC Utrecht .

National team

Wuytens was a national player for the Belgian U21s . In 2006 he and his team qualified for the finals of the U-21 European Football Championship 2007 in the Netherlands. A 1-1 draw in which Wuytens received the red card and a 4-1 win in the second leg paved the way. However, the defender was no longer considered for the finals and so he missed the Junior European Championship.
