Vesna Teršelič

Vesna Teršelič (* 1962 in Ljubljana ) is a peace activist .

She was the founder and coordinator of the anti-war campaign in Croatia . In 1998 she received the Alternative Nobel Prize ( Right Livelihood Award ) together with Katarina Kruhonja from the Center for Peace, Nonviolence and Human Rights , Osijek . They were honored for their commitment to a long-term peace process and reconciliation in terms of a democratic and tolerant society.

Vesna Teršelič is also the founder and director of the organization Documenta - Center for coming to terms with the past based in Croatia .

She has also gained experience as a mediator in crisis situations, especially in Bosnia-Herzegovina , Kosovo and Kyrgyzstan .

Vesna Teršelič is a signatory of the declaration published in 2017 on the common language of Croatians , Serbs , Bosniaks and Montenegrins .
