Vesna Zmijanac ( Serbian - Cyrillic Весна Змијанац , born on January 4, 1957 in Nikšić , Yugoslavia , now Montenegro ) is a Serbian folk singer.

life and work

Her hits are Nevero moja ( My infidelity ), Malo, po malo ( bit by bit ), Idem preko zemlje Srbije ( I walk across the soil of Serbia ), Ne kunite crne oči ( Cursed not black eyes ), Kazni me, kazni ( Punish me, punished me ), Da budemo zajedno ( That we are together ), Kraljica tuge ( Queen of mourning ), Kunem ti se životom ( I swear with my life ), Zaboravi me ( Forget me ). She also interpreted the old Bosnian folk song Moj dilbere ( My Beloved ).

Another successful song was the duet with the Bosnian singer Dino Merlin : Kad zamirišu jorgovani ( When the lilac starts to smell ). Kad zamirišu jorgovani was also the name of her first biography in which she settled accounts with the show industry. Zmijanac also cleared the hostility with Lepa Brena that the tabloids had forced .

Today Zmijanac lives rather secluded in the Serbian city of Bukulje .

Her daughter Nikolija Jovanović , known by her first name, also works in show business, as a photo model and as a pop singer.
