Barbara Senator
Barbara Senator (born May 30 in Leipzig ) is a German opera singer ( soprano ).
Life
Senator studied at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig in her hometown with Jitka Kovarikova-Richter and at the University of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin with Hannerose Katterfeld , as a member of the opera class of Júlia Várady and the song classes of Wolfram Rieger and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau . Then she was a member of the opera studio of the Bavarian State Opera .
She is currently continuing her studies at KS Irmgard Boas in Dresden.
Engagements and guest engagements have already taken her to the Bavarian State Opera , the Stuttgart State Opera , the Berlin State Opera , as well as the opera houses in Leipzig, Mainz, Kassel, Wiesbaden, Essen, Toulouse, Bordeaux and the Theater an der Wien and also made guest appearances at the Engadin Opera Festival , at the Wiener Festwochen , at the Aix-en-Provençe Festival and twice at the Glyndebourne Festival , most recently in 2012 under Sir Charles Mackerra 's last conduct as Dorabella in Così fan tutte .
From 2006–2009 she was a member of the ensemble of the Hanover State Opera and at the beginning of the 2010/11 season she moved to the Semperoper Dresden, of which she was a member for 6 years. The artist has been working as a freelance artist since September 2016.
In summer 2012, Barbara Senator made her debut in a new production of Berlioz ' Les Troyens ( David McVicar / Antonio Pappano ) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and from 2012 to 2014 as Wellgunde / 2nd Norn in a revival of the Ring ( Pierre Audi / Hartmut Haenchen ) the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam.

She began her career as a mezzo-soprano with roles such as Cherubino , Dorabella , Ramiro , Idamante , Angelina , Isabella , Rosina , Pippo , Muse / Nicklausse , l'enfant , Siébel , Hansel , Orlofsky , Ruggiero , 2nd Norn and Wellgunde . Her soprano roles so far include Ottilie (Im Weiße Rössl), Hanna Glawari , Donna Elvira , Contessa Almaviva , Pamina , Dido , Dorinda (Orlando), composer , Fuchs (Clever Fox ) and Gänsemagd (Königskinder).
