The Vestmannsvatn is a lake in the region Norðurland eystra in the north of Iceland in the municipality Þingeyjarsveit .
geography
The approximately 2.5 km² and 10 m deep Vestmannsvatn is located north of the town of Laugar in Reykjadalur. The Reykjadalsá flows from the south into the lake, which is connected to the two smaller lakes Sýrnesvatn and Mýlaugsstaðavatn and finally to the Laxá via its outflow Eyvindarlækur . To the east of the two lakes is Lake Múlavatn.
To the northeast of Vestmannsvatn is Grenjaðarstaður , to the east is the Múlaheiði plateau, and to the west is the Skjálfandafljót . There are smaller lakes near the west bank, including Hólkotstjörn and Koppatjörn. There are several smaller islands in the lake itself.

The lake is used for fishing. You can find brown trout and char there, among other things .
