The Vetter group is a German mechanical engineering company . It consists of the umbrella company Vetter Holding AG based in Siegen-Eiserfeld , the crane manufacturer Vetter Krantechnik GmbH based in Siegen-Eiserfeld and the service company Vetter Kranservice GmbH based in Haiger.
history
The company was founded in 1889 as Arnold Vetter KG, factory for iron structures; later the company was renamed Arnold Vetter GmbH, Vetter Holding GmbH and finally Vetter Holding AG. The production company Vetter Fördertechnik GmbH initially limited itself to the manufacture of conveyor baskets , mine cars and conveyor towers for mining . In 1962 the conversion to crane systems and supplier parts for forklift trucks and construction machines began . Since 2009 it has been called Vetter Krantechnik GmbH.
The company is still family-owned. A total of 205 people are employed at two locations. To date, the product range has expanded considerably. In addition to slewing cranes and crane systems, Vetter now also manufactures load turning devices.
Vetter describes itself as one of the world's leading manufacturers of industrial slewing cranes in the 125 to 100,000 kilogram class. Vetter slewing cranes are also manufactured under license by partner companies in various countries. A total of over 100,000 copies were made.
Locations
Vetter maintains production facilities in the main plant in Siegen-Eiserfeld and in the Haiger crane plant on Autobahn 45. The head office of Vetter Krantechnik is still located at the headquarters in Siegen-Eiserfeld.
