Predecessor club

In September of the year 1881 some Segendorfer came together to found the gymnastics club Segendorf together. In 1986 an own gym was completed. A soccer club was then founded in 1911 with "Fortuna" Segendorf. During the First World War , gaming operations came to a standstill. From 1923 to 1925, the soccer team made it from the C-class to the A-class and was able to complete this with the championship. There was also an athletics department within FC Fortuna Segendorf . Due to financial problems and the political situation, considerations were made to merge the gymnastics club and the football club, which was then decided in 1939 with the establishment of VfL Segendorf .

history

Real gaming operations were no longer possible during the Second World War, and gaming was not properly resumed until 1947. For the 1951/52 season, the football team rose to the then third-class Rhineland regional league , where they finished penultimate in the North season with 18:42 points. For the amateur league, which was introduced for the next season, they did not qualify and therefore had to compete in the fourth-class 2nd amateur league.

Due to shortages in the youth, a syndicate with the football club Wied 03 Niederbieber was entered into in 1966 . This was followed in the following year by a merger to form the new club VfL Wied Niederbieber-Segendorf 1881/1903 .
