Vibeke Saugestad (born February 5, 1976 in Genoa , Italy ) is a Norwegian musician from Moss . She began her musical career in her hometown in the girls band Avslørte Bondepiker ( Unveiled Peasant Girls ). At the age of 16 she became a member of the band Weld , which received a Spellemann prize for the album Natural Tools in 1994 as the best newcomer band .

It made the front cover of Norwegian magazine Beat and was extremely popular. During this period she had an advertising contract with Tine and was featured on posters, in magazines and on television in Norway in an advertising campaign that featured celebrities with milk beards.

1998 Vibeke left the band Weld . In the following years she studied in Oslo at the university, played in the bands Thelyblast and The Yum Yums and worked on studio albums by Anne Grete Preus and Poor Rich Ones . In 2001 she got a contract with Sony , from which the album Into The Shimmering (2001) emerged. In 2003 Universal released the album Overdrive . In 2001 she received the Moss Commune Culture Prize .
