The Vibracoustic AG is a company of the group of companies Freudenberg .
The company produces anti-vibration systems (engine mounts, chassis mounts) made of rubber and air suspension systems to reduce noise and vibrations in the automotive sector. The head office is in Darmstadt .
The company employs around 10,000 people at 43 locations in 19 countries worldwide and achieved sales of around 2.1 billion euros in 2016. Customers include automobile manufacturers around the world.
history
In 2001 Vibracoustic GmbH and Co. KG was founded as a joint venture between the Freudenberg group and the Hamburg group Phoenix AG . Freudenberg brought in the Megulastik division for this purpose . In 2002 Freudenberg became the sole owner of Vibracoustic.
On July 3, 2012, Vibracoustic merged with the Automotive division of Trelleborg AB to form TrelleborgVibracoustic GmbH, which was held equally by Freudenberg and Trelleborg.
In 2013 and 2014 there were job cuts at the production site in Breuberg in the Odenwald and in Neuenburg in southern Baden due to the ongoing price and cost pressure in the industry.
The name change to Vibracoustic GmbH took place in 2016 after Freudenberg also took over the shares from Trelleborg.
The name change to Vibracoustic AG took place in 2019.
