Viktor-Adler-Hof

The Viktor-Adler-Hof is an urban housing development in the 10th Vienna district favorites . It is located at Triester Straße 57-65, on the side of the Wienerberg in the city center .
Building description
The Victor-Adler-Hof was built from 1923 to 1924 according to plans by the architect Engelbert Mang . With its original 117 apartments and a long, representative facade on Triester Straße, it was one of the large municipal buildings in what was then Red Vienna . The facility was laid out in a U-shape and is bounded by Troststrasse and Quaringasse. The front side is symmetrical and is emphasized by a raised central risalit with a gable as well as round loggias and groups of balconies.
It was named after the founder of the Austrian social democracy, Victor Adler , who had campaigned especially for the brick workers on the Wienerberg.
The future mayor of Vienna, Felix Slavik, lived in the building .
