Victor Guérin

Victor Guérin (born September 15, 1821 in Paris , †  September 21, 1891 ibid) was a French explorer and amateur archaeologist.

Guérin made research trips to the Middle East between 1852 and 1854 as a member of the École française in Athens and carried out archaeological research in 1860 with funds from Duke Honoré Théodoric d'Albert de Luynes (1803–1867) .

Guérin traveled several times in 1863, 1870, 1875, 1882, 1884 and 1888 to Syria , Jerusalem and Palestine .

Victor Guérin died in Paris on September 21, 1891.
