Victoriaborg is a historic district of the Ghanaian capital Accra , which emerged in the late 19th century as a part of the city exclusively reserved for Europeans and stretched east of the then city limits of Accra. It was built behind cliffs that were said to have a steady breeze. With its luxurious villas, horse-drawn tramway , golf course , polo and cricket fields and tennis courts , Victoriaborg was "a piece of England that was placed in the urban landscape of Accra." Today the district extends roughly between Kojo Thompson Road, Kinbu Road / Sir Charles Quist Street in the north and the Gulf Accra Metropolitan Assembly in the south.

As the city expanded, the Victoriaborg district was incorporated into the urban environment. After Ghana's independence in 1957, the European business district in Victoriaborg was "de-Europeanized. In a symbolic sense, the area was" nationalized "by the headquarters of the Bank of Ghana , ministries, Independence Square and the headquarters of newly established national companies.

Today the architecture in Victoriaborg ranges from elegant Georgian colonial buildings to glittering modern high-rise buildings, which reflect the change of the fine district from suburb to a modern business district.
