Vidar Sundstøl

Vidar Sundstøl (born June 30, 1963 in Drangedal ) is a Norwegian writer who became famous for his crime novels. In addition to his birthplace, he spent several years in Egypt and Minnesota , USA . He currently lives in Bø (Telemark), Norway . In 1987 Sundstøl completed the annual course in writing at Telemark University College (HiT) in Bø. He published his first novel in 2005. In March 2009, he was awarded the Riverton Prize for his fourth novel "Drømmenes land" . In 2009 Sundstøl also received a state scholarship for writers for three years. The novel “Drømmenes land” was the only one to have been translated into German so far (2020) (under the title “Traumland”). Other translations were made into English, French and Dutch.
