Vienna is a free feedreader for MacOS . The program supports both RSS - and nuclear - feeds and podcasts .

description

The Cocoa program is characterized by a simple and intuitive user interface and offers a folder structure for sorting feeds similar to that of e-mail programs such as Mail or music players such as iTunes in the classic view. In addition, feeds can be dynamically grouped according to certain characteristics in so-called “intelligent folders”. The graphical user interface is divided into three frames for the folder structure, the article list (of a feed or order) and the article view.

The entire list of feeds including the folder structure can be exported in OPML format and transferred to or imported from other feed readers . Vienna is available in several languages. The entire selection of feeds can also be synchronized with online feed readers via the Open Reader API.

The view of a single feed article is based on HTML and CSS and can be customized with your own themes. The user can choose between several styles for viewing articles. If an article contains so-called enclosures (attachments) such as For example, in the case of an audio or video podcast, Vienna offers these for download.

A WebKit -based web browser is integrated into the feed reader , which is based on SourceForge , GitHub and Bintray as a project , with which you can visit websites linked in articles. This browser automatically recognizes feeds integrated in websites and provides a button with which you can subscribe to the feed. Alternatively, an external browser can be used.

Vienna has interfaces for AppleScript and Growl for interaction with other MacOS programs .
