The Viessmann model GmbH , founded in 1988, is a manufacturer of model railway accessories and especially known for its shape and light models as well as for its overhead lines. The company headquarters is in Hatzfeld, Hesse .

history

Viessmann Modelltechnik GmbH was founded in 1988 by Wieland Viessmann and his brother Hubertus Viessmann. Until then, Wieland Viessmann worked as a designer for production machines and as manager of storage and conveyor technology at the Viessmann boiler works.

The growth of the young company finally culminated in the opening of a manufacturing plant in Hungary in 1993. This was intended to lower production costs compared to manufacturing in Germany and to secure the further course of expansion. At the end of 2009 Viessmann initially continued the production of the insolvent Kibri (Kindler & Briel GmbH) and finally took over the entire production and the Kibri brand at the beginning of 2010. The previous Kibri plant in Schopfloch was closed and production relocated to Hungary and Romania.

When operations at the Stuttgart company Vollmer were discontinued in 2014, Viessmann also took over the Vollmer brand and its product range. Since then, production has also taken place in Hungary and Romania.
