Vigilijus Jukna

Vigilijus Jukna (born July 23, 1968 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian zoo engineer, professor and former politician, from 2012 to 2014 Minister of Agriculture .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Kaunas in 1986, he graduated from the Lietuvos veterinarijos akademija with a degree in zoo engineering in 1991 . From 1993 to 1996 he did his doctorate at the chair for special zoo technology at the LVA. From 1991 to 1997 he was a research assistant at the LVA, from 1998 to 2007 lecturer at the chair for animal husbandry at the LVA, and from 2008 to 2012 professor. From December 13, 2012 to July 11, 2014 he was the Minister of Agriculture of Lithuania . He resigned because Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė considered all three of his deputies (deputy ministers ) to be the "shadowy" people based on information from the Specialiųjų tyrimų tarnyba .

He is a member of the Darbo partija .
