Vijay Upadhyaya

Vijay Upadhyaya (born September 6, 1966 in Lucknow ) is an Indian / Austrian choir director , conductor and composer .

Life

He is the founder of the Graz University Choir, which he chaired until 1996. He currently directs the orchestra and the choir of the University of Vienna and the Vienna Schubert Orchestra and the Vienna Festival Chorus and since 2009 permanent guest conductor of the Chinese National Orchestra and -chores.

In 2001 he founded the Vienna Vocal Consort , a vocal ensemble for early music in Austria, as music director at the Karlskirche Vienna .

He founded the India National Youth Orchestra in 2011 .
