Viktor Petrovich Schalke (* 9. February 1959 in Porozów; Belarusian Віктар Антонавіч Шалкевіч , Polish Viktar Antonawicz Szałkiewicz , Russian Виктор Антонович Шалкевич ) is a Belarusian actor , poet and singer-songwriter .

biography

Born in 1959 in Porozów near Grodno in the Socialist Byelorussian Soviet Republic, he grew up with Jewish roots in the midst of three cultures: the Belarussian, the Polish and the Yiddish. He finished his training at the State Theater Institute in 1980, played at the Grodno City Theater until 1991, and has worked at the Grodno Puppet Theater since 1991.

Schalkewitsch is an actor, poet and bard. He has been writing and performing songs since he was at school. He has given concerts in Belarus, the Czech Republic, France, Lithuania, Germany, Poland and Russia. He starred in the films Slozy błudnogo syna ("Tears of the Prodigal Son") and Sładkij jad lubwi ("The Sweet Poison of Love"). His songs are very personal, full of sarcasm, irony and grief over unfulfilled hopes and despite noble subjects he manages without pathos. During his appearances he reacts spontaneously and unpredictably.
