Viktor Sigrist

Viktor Bernhard Sigrist (born May 27, 1960 in Olten , Switzerland ) is a Swiss professor of solid construction and has been the director of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts since March 2015 .

Act

Sigrist studied civil engineering for a diploma at the ETH Zurich until 1988 , his diploma thesis was awarded the university's silver medal. In 1995 he did his doctorate under Peter Marti at the Institute for Structural Analysis and Design on the "deformation capacity of reinforced concrete beams".

In October 2002 Sigrist accepted a position at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH) and became head of the Institute for Solid Construction. Sigrist supervised a. a. Projects that made the subject particularly tangible, such as concrete canoes and wooden bridge design in the context of lectures. From October 2012 to February 2015 he was Vice President for Structural Development at the TUHH.

Sigrist has been the director of the Lucerne School of Technology and Architecture since March 2015.

Others

Sigrist is a committed member of the TUHH's art initiative and is responsible for the Research Training Group for Art and Technology . In late summer 2012, Sigrist supported the exhibition of the work of art Horizon Field by the British artist Antony Gormley in the Deichtorhallen : Sigrist provided the calculations for the statics and gave tours of the work of art.

Sigrist is married and lives in Lucerne.
