The Viktringerhof is located on the south-east corner of the Neuer Platz in the center of Klagenfurt . It is also the corner house at the beginning of the two streets Paradeisergasse and Karfreitstrasse.

Since 1622, the Viktringerhof was the dormitory of the abbots of the Cistercian monastery Viktring . Under Abbot Benedikt Mulz, the building was given its present form in 1738. After the abolition of the monastery (1786) worked in the Viktringerhof for the good of the country, including from 1787 to 1790 Franz Xaver Altgraf von Salm-Reifferscheidt , Prince-Bishop of Gurk , and from 1791 to 1803 and 1806 to 1821 Franz Reichsgraf von Enzenberg , President of the inner Austrian appellate court , which had its seat here from 1791 to 1850 - worked on this a. a. 1832 France Prešeren . This was followed by the Higher Regional Court (until 1854) and the Finance Directorate (until 1898). Since that year, the Viktringerhof has been the official building of the Klagenfurt district administration . In 2012 the building went into private ownership.
