Vilar de Amargo is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo . The community had 158 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Vilar de Amargo, Algodres and Vale de Afonsinho were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Algodres, Vale de Afonsinho e Vilar de Amargo .
