Vilare Island (English; Bulgarian остров Виларе ostrow Wilare ) is a low, non-icy , east-west orientation 130 m long and 60 m wide island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In the group of Onogur Islands off the northwest coast of Robert Island , it is 1.7 km east-northeast of Misnomer Point and 0.29 km west-southwest of Shipot Point . It is separated from Churicheni Island by a 20 m wide strait .
Bulgarian scientists mapped it in 2009. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2013 after the village of Wilare in northern Bulgaria .
