Villa Ángela is a city in northern Argentina . It is located in the south of the province of Chaco and has 38,020 inhabitants. This makes it the third largest city in the province.

location

Villa Ángela is located about 200 kilometers west of the Río Paraná . The surrounding area belongs to the dry forest landscape of the Gran Chaco , but is used intensively for agriculture in this area. The climate is subtropical, with very hot, humid summers and mild, dry winters.

history

The city was founded in 1908 by Swiss immigrants. At first the settlement was called El Pueblito , after it was connected to the railway network in 1910, Punta de Rieles . Only later was the road network built and the city renamed Villa Ángela. In 1924, a second wave of immigrants reached the city, which consisted mainly of Bulgarians and Hungarians .

Factories were set up in the village from the very beginning. Today Villa Ángela is a city in which the economy is shaped by industry and trade alike.
