Villa Berg (Ludenscheid)
The Villa Berg is a listed secular building at Hohfuhrstrasse 42 in Lüdenscheid in the Märkisches Kreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The neo-baroque villa with chauffeur's house stands on a large garden plot. It was built in 1906 for the manufacturer Carl Berg according to plans by the architects Heinrich Kayser and Karl von Großheim . The plastered structure appears asymmetrical due to bay windows, porches and the loggia at the back . The hipped roof is structured by structures such as dormers and gable . A two-flight wooden staircase leads to the upper floor of the two-story hall . Flat barrel vaults were drawn into the dining room ; Otto von Ernst painted the walls with hunting scenes in 1909. The freight elevator and the vacuum cleaner are remarkable . The terrace garden is regularly designed in the vicinity of the house and landscaped in the other areas.
The building was completely renovated in 2004.
