Villa Hohenzollernstr. 1

The Villa Hohenzollernstrasse 1 in Stuttgart is a historic building.

description

In April 1894, the privateer Emil Eitel submitted the planning application for the two-family house. The architect responsible was Ludwig Eisenlohr , who already designed other buildings for Emil Eitel, such as in Mörikestr. 5 and 17 had built.

The apartment on the ground floor also has four rooms in the basement, the apartment on the upper floor has three to four rooms on the top floor. These are each connected to one another by a special staircase.

The building has two tower-like architectural elements - the staircase and the study tower. The facade is clad with Stuttgart and Hall sandstone. The facade is structured by a stepped gable, bay window, loggias with columns, risalits , a dwelling and triple windows. These are adorned with gothic decor.

The building, damaged in the war, was rebuilt, but not listed as a historical monument. Urban planning reasons and the ensemble effect secured the existence of the villa - “Today the building owes its existence primarily to its prominent location in the line of sight of Mörikestrasse. It is an important part of the overall picture of the manorial development on the upper Mörikestrasse [...], so that its demolition could be prevented. "
