Villa Nordheim

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Villa Nordheim (former address Hainstrasse 9 ) was a villa in Wuppertal - Elberfeld . The house, built in 1888, was laid down in January 1980 before the Monument Protection Act came into force in March 1980 and there was a legal remedy against the demolition. It was considered a monument and was included in the official list of the state conservator. The building had to give way to the increased space requirements of the neighboring hospital.

The villa was on a hill and was a landmark visible from afar above the federal highway 46 , near the flyover over Briller Straße . The two-storey slated building with a hipped roof was erected on a high base made of rubble stones . The gable of the left-side projections consisted of white wooden panels, as well as the window frames were pilasters and a bay window on the first floor in the southwest corner of the building carried out in white. In the southeast corner of the building was a tower built with rubble with a cut-off tent roof and a protruding eaves .

The associated two-storey shed (former address Hainstrasse 11 ) was closed at the same time. It was built in a similar style and had a central projectile with a tower, similar to that of the villa.
