Villa Parkstrasse 3 (Dresden)

Villa Parkstrasse 3

The Villa Parkstrasse 3 in Dresden was built by Hermann Nicolai from 1867 to 1868 and destroyed in 1945. What is remarkable is the composition of the house as a whole, which is "balanced". The lack of decoration of the building is "educational" and can "hardly be surpassed".

description

It was a two-story villa with a flat hipped roof. The facade had a front length that took up five window axes. The entrance to the house on the rear facade was flanked on both sides by two window axes, the outermost axes being designed as a side elevation. There was a triplet window above the house entrance on the first floor . The floors were separated from each other by cornices. While a simple cornice could be seen between the base and ground floor, the ground floor was separated from the upper floor by a cornice. The rectangular windows had "simply profiled" window frames. A straight roof had been installed above the windows, resting on consoles.
