Two listed suburban villas in Kempten im Allgäu bear the name Villa Schnetzer . The two villas are located in a fenced-in area, which is in the inner corner of the Immenstädter Strasse and Mozartstrasse that lead up.
Description and history
The recently built villa is located in the highest and southernmost point of the site and has the address Immenstädter Straße 9 . The former director's villa was built in 1860 by Wilhelm Schnetzer, who ran the Schnetzer cheese factory on the property to the south, which no longer exists today. The villa is a two-story gable roof with a high knee , a loggia and a porch . To the east is a ground floor extension from the second half of the 19th century. In the extension there is a listed room, which was made in 1882 by the Munich court carpenter and court furniture manufacturer Anton Pössenbacher .
This includes a garden pavilion .
In February 2016, a café was opened in the villa, which is located on the ground floor in the original rooms and in part of the garden. Anton Pössenbacher's Paris room from 1882 can also be viewed by the public.
The second villa, at Mozartstrasse 11, is located at the lowest point of the small park and was built in 1924. The cubic two-storey hipped roof building with a central projectile and a loggia in slightly historicizing forms was built in 1924 by Ambros Madlener .
The whole area is enclosed by an enclosure with a wrought iron fence.
