The Villa Wiener Straße 2 (originally house number 44) was an upper-class residential building in the Seevorstadt in Dresden . description

Villa Wiener Strasse 2

The villa was two storeys high and was built on a square floor plan. Both the road and the side wall had a front length of five axes, two of which are attached to the sides risalits on the show facade each taking an axis. These uniaxial side projections were also raised by a mezzanine and showed a strong corner cuboid , otherwise the wall surfaces were smoothly plastered. At the ground floor level, the windows on the risalits as well as in the rear faced round arches. The external appearance was based on the design of the side axes on the garden side and the distribution of the arched and rectangular windows at Villa Rosa.

The interior was also designed after the Semperschen model. There was a central reception room that went on two floors and had an octagonal dome at the top . This was structured with stucco. A large skylight with integrated gas lighting was located in the middle of the dome and provided the central room with light. While four of the eight spandrels of the dome were painted with fine ornamental paintings in the Genoese style, the Dresden painter and academy professor Paul Mohn (1842–1911) had decorated the other four spandrels with scenic pictures in wax colors. Mohn also designed four other paintings on the lintels of the doors, thereby giving the impression of a one-meter-wide gallery.
