Vimeca Transportes Lda. , Vimeca for short , is a Portuguese bus transport company that mainly operates city ​​buses in the west of Lisbon and Oeira .

The bus company Vimeca was founded on September 21, 1931, first operating horse-drawn carriages between Carnaxide and Algés in the west of Lisbon. At the end of the 1930s, Vimeca purchased diesel buses for the first time. Since then, Vimeca has mainly operated passenger transport in the Oeiras district as well as a connection from Oeiras to Lisbon. In 1995 the state bus operator Rodoviária Nacional was privatized, Vimeca bought part of the bus companies in Lisbon and Oeiras and has been operating them under the Lisboa Transportes brand ever since . Today Vimeca is part of the Imorey group of companies , which also includes the Fénix hotel chain .

Vimeca employs around 400 bus drivers and owns 225 diesel buses. Around 175,000 passengers are transported every day, and Vimeca also operates eleven sales outlets. Vimeca received some government grants, together with other bus companies in 2007 4.935 million euros.
